Quick and Easy Homemade Turkey Dog Treats | Turkey and Squash Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 2 cups squash

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbls fresh parsley

  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Add ground turkey to large bowl along with squash, egg and parsley. Use electric mixer with paddle attachement, mix on low speed until combined. About 1 minute. (It’s fine to mix by hand if you don’t have a stand mixer, it might just take a little longer 😉
  • Next add the flour, 1 cup at a time and mix until combined. Mixture will be very sticky.
  • Scoop mixture onto baking sheet and use a spatula or your hands to flatten and spread evenly across baking sheet.
  • Next grab a pizza cutter or knife and cut into squares.
  • Place on the middle rack of preheated oven and bake for approx 40 mins or until browned.
  • Once treats have cooled a few moments, take your pizza cutter or knife and go back over your original cut lines to separate.
  • Cool for one hour, store in ziplock or covered container in the fridge for 1 week. (If they last that long)
