Spinach and carrot homemade dog biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3 cups oat flour

  • 1/2 cup grated carrots (approx 3 large)

  • 1/2 cup steamed frozen spinach (1 cup if using fresh)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup pure pumpkin ( Make sure it says pure pumpkin and NOT pie filling)

  • 1/2 cup diced apple

  • 1 heaping tbls turmeric

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350f and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
  • Grate carrots, peel and dice apple and add to large bowl. Add the spinach, eggs, pumpkin and turmeric and mix well.
  • Add the flour, 1 cup at a time until you can form dough into a ball. Dough will be a bit sticky but should be easily workable. You may need a bit less or more flour.
  • Once your dough is ready, sprinkle some flour on surface where you will be rolling it out. Don’t forget to coat your rolling pin as well.
  • Roll dough to the desired biscuit thickness (I usually do 1 inch thick) You can use whatever shape cookie cutters you have on hand or just cut into whatever shape you would like.
  • (Don’t forget to reuse the scraps from what you cut out! Keep re working the left overs into a ball and rolling out until you have no more dough left!)
  • Place on baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Let cool for 1 hour before serving to your pet.
  • Store in air tight container on counter up to 3-4 days or in fridge for 2 weeks!
