Difficulty: Easy2
hoursFeeding coconut oil to dogs has become a little controversial lately. Each dog is unique and will of course react differently to different foods/supplements. As always, please refer to your vet or nutritionist for advice about what would work for your pup! Here are a few reasons why I still add coconut oil to my dogs diets
🥥 Moisturizes and helps soothe dry itchy skin. Great for wiping ears, paws and even cracked noses.
🥥 coconut oil has Anti fungal and anti bacterial properties
🥥 Conditions dogs coat and leaves it shiny + deodorizes
🥥 Eases inflammation
🥥 Freshens breath and is great for oral health
🥥 Helps with digestion
Ingredients
1 cup coconut oil
1 cup peanut butter (make sure it’s xylitol free)
Directions
- Melt coconut oil over low-medium heat. Once melted add in the peanut butter. Whisk peanut butter and coconut oil until smooth.
- Pour into ice cube trays or silicone molds and freeze for 2-3 hours before serving. If you don’t have either of these, you can line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the mixture over, freeze and just break into pieces once frozen.
